Heroes and the power of reading.

The Power of Letters Edgar Plans

Edgar Plans is one of the Spanish artists currently trending in Southeast Asia. His project ‘The Power of Letters’, which consists of a solo show and a collection of art figures that have been going on sale, can currently be visited at the K11 Guangzhou in Hong Kong.

Born in 1977, Edgar Plans has a fresh and vital style with children's characters who often dress as heroes. His works are influenced by urban art, graffiti and manga and cartoons. Using these drawings, the artist used to criticize behaviors such as racism, capitalism or gender violence.

Until March 14, 2022, you can enjoy ‘The Power of Letters’ exhibition at the K11 gallery in Guangzhou, which has already seen big names such as Vincent Leroy or the Japanese Hajime Sorayama with his impressive shark sculptures.

The Reading Hero sculptures, My Little Martian & Dreamer girl are a homage to literature, books and letters in a tribute to the fact of reading, that makes the horizons of our imagination expand beyond unsuspected limits.

These very limited sculptures are inspired by those that appear in the exhibition and that are currently difficult to obtain since the art of Edgar Plans is highly wanted in the art market. Who doesn't need a little writer or reader at home to give them some inspiration?

In a digital world in which the taste for traditional reading seems to be disappearing, these little heroes from Edgar Plans want to lend us a hand and remind us of the pleasure of sitting quietly and reading a book.
