DANIEL ARSHAM - No.38 Eroded DeLorean
Future Relic Series - No.38 Eroded DeLorean
The New York based artist Daniel Arsham keeps a steady pace for its following solo exhibition ‘Turning Wrenches’ with Library Street Collective Gallery by presenting its latest release No.38 Eroded DeLorean sculpture.
The release shows a glimpse of what the solo exhibition will talk about: a tribute to Detroit’s automotive industry and global car culture, based on his longtime fascination for automobiles.
Eroded DeLorean continues the line of Daniel Arsham’s artworks that are a combination of art, architecture and performance. It’s time for the classic car from the cult-classic film Back to the Future trilogy DMC DeLorean of 1981. The car’s fantastical history melds with the eroded nature of the Future Relic Series, featuring the eroded formations that give way to crystal, which speak on the beauty of natural evolution.
The latest Future Relic Sculpture follows the same but life-scale DMC DeLorean released in 2018 by the artist. This new eroded edition comes with gull-wing doors that open, and can be displayed with the doors opened or closed. Each edition is 31CM in lengths and weights 2.8kg. Packaging-wise, comes with Arsham studio designed housing with die-cut foam, sealing label, and a pair of white art handling gloves.
The eroded classic car now is part of the Future Relic Series and was released at Daniel Arsham’s website retail priced at 2.500USD and limited to 500 pieces worldwide.
